Help when choosing a bridesmaid dress

As if it isn’t difficult enough deciding on your attire you now have to think about what your bridesmaids will wear. If your entourage comes in all different shapes and sizes this may be more difficult than you first thought! You can all go shopping together and sometimes this is easier because it will save the wasted time of all getting together and returning unwanted items by post, or if you have the time and taking into account the ever declining highstreets of the united kingdom, you might find better deals and more variety online. Below are a list of things that you can consider or ask your bridesmaids before deciding on what they should wear.

Considerations

  • Would they prefer short or long dresses? If you are deciding upon this the main thing to take into account are the shoes and the height of your bridesmaids. When you are choosing long dresses it is easier to wear any shoe under it and you will be able to play around with the heel heights so that your entourage are level in your photos.
  • The theme, ahhh we mention this again but only because it can be reflected in every aspect of your wedding day. Think about your colour scheme and if the dresses suit. Colour is possibly one of the main considerations to make, however, it may not be the simplest you might find some of your brides are unhappy to wear certain colours, so it is best to have a few different colour swatches in mind.
  • Fitting or flair? Now we all have our assets and our lumps and bumps, floaty dresses can be more forgiving and therefore a popular choice.
  • To sleeve or not to sleeve? This will mostly depend on the season, warmer weathers may require a shorter sleeve and Goosebumps aren’t welcome on anyone’s special day. Alternatively, if you are unsure you can add a little jacket or shawl.
  • Fabric, Chiffon was the 2019 winner and it creates a beautiful dreamy look perfect for any season.
  • Simple and stylish or embellished, following Meghan Markle’s stunning white evening dress, simple and stylish has never been so popular it might also be easier to keep everyone happy that way.
  • Neckline, Now this is mainly down to chest size so its best to ask your bridesmaids what they will feel most comfortable in.
